Backgrounder: Canada’s Global Skills Strategy – What Employers Should Know

On June 12, Canada launched its Global Skills Strategy, a three-pronged plan to attract high-skilled foreign talent in certain professional roles by providing a faster and more predictable process for qualifying companies and employees.
The program comprises three parts:
- Short-term work permit exemptions.
- Two-week work permit processing.
- Global Talent Stream, Category A and Category B.
