Backgrounder: BAL’s latest information on the EU’s posted worker directive
25 Aug, 2017
Many countries throughout the European Union continue to implement new regulations to move into compliance with a directive aimed at enforcing EU rules on posted workers. The changes have significant impacts on mobility programs and have led to new notification and documentation-retention requirements for companies sending service providers to EU countries. EU member countries have each implemented the directive differently, and it is important for companies to understand that new rules vary considerably. Clients should take a country-by-country approach when posting workers in Europe. BAL has updated its Backgrounder on the EU Enforcement Directive on Posted Workers with information on countries that have recently developed or begun enforcing new rules, including Finland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Cyprus and Greece.
