Ashish is a Staff Attorney in the San Francisco office of Berry, Appleman & Leiden LLP working on nonimmigrant and immigrant visa matters for the United States.

Ashish’s business immigration experience focuses on processing high volume immigrant and non-immigrant visa petitions. One of his areas of expertise is strategizing EB-1 immigrant visa petitions in the Outstanding Researcher, Extraordinary Ability, and Multinational Manager categories. He further advises immigrant visa applicants throughout the adjustment of status process, including accompanying them to adjustment of status interviews.

Ashish has also supported clients through the development of large-scale visa sponsorship eligibility assessment programs. He has overseen the immigration assessment program for a Fortune 100 client to determine eligibility for E-3, F, J, H-1B, H-1B1, L, O, and TN visas; J-1 waivers; and permanent residence.

Prior to joining BAL, Ashish worked as a criminal prosecutor in the San Francisco Bay Area. During law school, Ashish clerked for the California Department of Justice in the Criminal Appeals, Writs, and Trials division. He earned his B.A. in Economics and Political Science from University of California, Davis, and his J.D. from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.

Ashish also performs pro bono immigration service representing clients in asylum, U visa, and Violence Against Women Act matters.
