Oman recently announced it will allow citizens from 100 countries to enter without visas, but key information about the plan remains unavailable at this time.

Key Points:

  • Nationals of 100 countries will be allowed to enter Oman without visas, but the date when they will be allowed to do so has not been announced yet. The list of the 100 countries has also not yet been released.
  • Oman currently allows visa-free entry for citizens of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states.
  • Services for express visas (21-day visas), family visas, visa transfers and business visas recently re-opened. Currently, new employee visas are still not available. It is possible, however, to apply for an express visa, have the employee enter Oman and then transfer to an employee visa.

Analysis & Comments: The coming visa-free entry for citizens from 100 countries will allow more travelers to enter Oman, but key information has yet to be announced.
