U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services offices in New York, New Jersey and throughout New England were closed Thursday, as a powerful snowstorm struck the Northeast.

Applicants who had appointments for interviews or biometrics at USCIS field offices that were closed will automatically have their appointments rescheduled. Applicants that had InfoPass or other appointments scheduled are asked to reschedule appointments on their own as soon as possible.

The National Weather Service reported that New York City was hit with about 10 inches of snow, while parts of New England saw as much as 18 inches. Media outlets reported that hundreds of flights were canceled or delayed. The storm was expected to let up this evening.

BAL Analysis: An up-to-date list of USCIS office closures is available on this website, which also provides information on how to reschedule appointments that were canceled because of the weather. Though the storm is expected to pass, those with flights into or out of airports in New York, New Jersey or New England may wish to check their flight status with their airline before traveling to the airport.
