The Ministry of Health has updated entry protocols and testing requirements for list C, D and E countries. The changes will remain in effect until July 30.

Key Points:

  • Updates for list C countries (entire Schengen Area, Israel and the U.K.):
    • If travelers provide a negative PCR or antigenic test conducted within 48 hours of arrival, they will be able to enter the country and forego a 10-day quarantine.
    • Individuals must undergo a 10-day quarantine if the test was not taken or was conducted more than 48 hours before arrival.
  • Updates for list D countries (Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, Rwanda, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand and the U.S.):
    • Travelers may enter Italy for tourism purposes or without a justified reason but must provide a negative PCR or antigenic test taken within 72 hours of arrival.
    • Regardless of the initial negative test, individuals must undergo a 10-day quarantine upon arrival and will be retested for COVID-19 at the end of the isolation period.
  • Updates for list E countries (rest of world except San Marino and the Vatican):
    • Travelers may only enter the country for approved reasons such as work, study, necessity or urgency.
    • Entry will be granted to individuals that provide a negative PCR or antigenic test taken within 72 hours of arrival.
    • Individuals will still be subject to a 10-day quarantine regardless of the initial negative test and will be retested at the end of the isolation period.
