Berry Appleman & Leiden is pleased to host a series of corporate immigration focused workshops in its Sydney office throughout 2016. In our first workshop, BAL will unravel the complexities of immigration law, as well as provide standard practices and procedures for HR and Global Mobility professionals in their workplace settings. Our continuing series of workshops will aim to provide a platform and guidance for professionals who have experience in Australian employer-sponsored visas, and who wish to implement advanced skills to their mobility programs.

Book now to attend BAL’s first workshop on 28 January 2016. This event is complimentary for HR professionals and in-house mobility teams who coordinate Australian in-bound immigration programs.

Please join BAL as we interpret sponsorship obligations for your business, and how this relates to compliance, best practices, and consequences of a breach of sponsorship.

At this workshop you will learn:

  • how to check the Australian work rights of your employees
  • which work conditions apply to several key visa subclasses
  • what are the notifiable events which the Department of Immigration and Border Protection needs to know
  • the consequences of a breach of conditions of a business’s sponsorship, including sanctions and penalties
  • the essential kit of best practices which will help you to avoid errors in administering your immigration policy.

This workshop is an opportunity for you to meet BAL’s senior legal team and to bring along your own questions and concerns for discussion. The presenters will analyse case studies and there will be time for group discussion and questions and answers.
